Carol Jane Upshaw, 56, of Granbury, TX, entered into the presence of her Lord on December 30, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. A celebration of life service was held at Lakeside Baptist Church Granbury, TX on January 2, 2018 followed by a service at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX on January 3, 2018 and interment at Lawn Haven Cemetery in San Angelo, TX.

Linda Lou Whitten, 69, of Big Lake, went home to be with her parents and older brother on December 29, 2017. She was born in Sonora on February 18, 1948 to Edward “Dub” and Barbara “Jean” Wall. She attended Sonora HS. On August 9, 1973, she married John Thomas Whitten of Eldorado. Linda was a housewife who loved to read and crochet any chance she had. She was a loving wife, mom, and Mawmaw to those around her. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Big Lake.

Rose Ann Pejaszek McWilliams, 87, of Big Lake, Texas, passed away on December 19, 2017. She was born in Sheridan, Illinois on June 19, 1930. “MaMac” graduated from Presbyterian School of Nursing, receiving her diploma and her Registered Nurse license.

Sheila Jones, 76, of Big Lake, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Big Lake. She was born to the late, Herman and Welcome Lorene Bird Siegenthaler on November 13, 1940 in McCamey, Texas.  Sheila was known to many as the “answering lady”, having owned and operated Big Lake Answering Service for over 20 years. She was a character, always prepared to handle any crisis or need.

Surrounded by her loving family, Francisca C. Carrasco, age 77, went to be wit the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Northeast Methodist Hospital in Live Oak, near San Antonio, Texas. She was born May 11, 1940 in Mexico.

Jose Angel Lopez Rodriguez went to be with his Heavenly Father and wife Rosa Elia Lopez. He was the son of Isidro and Maria de Jesus Rodriguez Lopez. He was born on August 2, 1950. He raised four kids which are followed by their husbands and wifes: Rosario and Raul Rodriguez, Jose Angel Lopez Jr., Isidro and Liz Lopez, Cathy and Miguel DeLeon all from Big Lake.

Cody Lee Childress went to meet our Lord and Savior May 5, 2017.  Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake.  Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way. Cody was born August 14, 1964 in Big Lake, Texas.  He graduated from Sonora High School and received an Associate degree in Business Management.

On April 20, 2017 Anita Louise Smith, 78, of Big lake, formerly of Iraan, TX, went to be with her heavenly father and her loving husband, Royce. She was born in Austin, TX on August 3, 1938 to A.G. and Beatrice Black. She is preceded in death by her parents and dear sister Ann  Rogers.

Robert Storey, 73, of Kempner passed away in Temple on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove. Bob was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Guinn Haven Sanderlin and Julia Almina Thornton.  He was raised from less than a year old by Arnold Bascum and Julia Almina Storey in Uvalde and Big Lake, TX.

On March 28, 2017 Joe Roy Collins, 84, of Big Lake, TX went to be with his Heavenly Father and his beloved wife Mina Ruth and son Buster in Heaven. He was born in Mertzon, TX on June 16, 1932 to Roy and Hazel Collins. He is preceded in death by his parents, his eldest son Joe Ralph “Buster” Collins, and his only sibling, Ethel Irene Collins Everett Yearger.

Loma Jones, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2017. Family  received friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 5 pm to 7 pm at George Price Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 1 pm at George Price Funeral Home Chapel.

Billie Louise Scarber, 81, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Decatur, TX. Graveside services were Monday, January 15, 2018 at Briar Creek Cemetery in Bowie with Pastor Mike Davis officiating.
