Reagan County Junior Kason Brown achieved a significant milestone in his basketball career by surpassing 2,000 points during the Owls’ 71-51 victory over Sterling City on Monday. “Reaching 2,000 points means a lot to me,” Brown said. “What means even more is doing it surrounded by my family, teammates, and community.” Kason has had his sights set on this goal since childhood. “I knew at a young age that I loved the game of basketball,” he said. “Reaching 2,000 points is significant because of all the work I’ve put in that nobody sees.”

The Reagan County Owls have their eyes firmly set on San Antonio. As the team enters the Bi-District round of the playoffs, their goal of reaching the State Tournament comes into focus. “I think this year is our best shot at it,” Junior Kason Brown said. “We have so much talent and experience on this team. Most of that stemming from our senior leaders AJ Avalos and Raymond Saldibar.”

The Reagan County Owls sit atop District 7-2A as district play passed the mid-point. The Owls, ranked #4 in the State for 2A, traveled to Sterling City on Friday and returned home with a 69-46 win. They followed that win up with another district victory on Tuesday against Sonora by a 76-53 margin.

The #4 Reagan County Owls took a huge 60-42 win Tuesday night over Christoval as they near the mid-point of district play. The victory brought the Owls to 5-1 in district play tying things up at the top with Christoval and Forsan. “Christoval has a lot of length on the court,” Coach Kyle Brown said. “They are a solid team with a lot of size.”
