Big Lake’s biggest celebration of the year will take place Saturday, July 3rd at Reagan County’s North Park.
Coming off of the COVID-19 Pandemic that canceled last year’s event, the Big Lake Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center’s 2021 Santa Rita Star Spangled Celebration is shaping up to be the largest in a line of monster 4th of July celebrations in Big Lake.
This year’s event will feature Whiskey Myers, Kevin Fowler and Los Rieleros del Norte along with a huge fireworks show.
Here are some things that will help make sure you make the most of this FREE ADMISSION event!

4th of July Fireworks
Before the Star Spangled Celebration even begins, we’re sure many will take to the North Park to pop their own fireworks during the week.
Please pick up all trash from your personal firework displays in the county park during the week of July 4th. Individual Fireworks will NOT be allowed during the Star Spangled Celebration.
The Chamber and our sponsors are providing a HUGE fireworks display by Bad Boyz Fireworks during the celebration!
That display will begin at 9:30 p.m. The display will be set off from the little league field’s parking lot behind the home stands of James H. Bird Memorial Stadium. You will be able to see the show from anywhere in the North Park, so no need to get close to where they are setting them off.

Grabbing Your Spot for the Day
The Chamber of Commerce will be setting up signs, fencing, trash cans, sound, lighting etc. on Thursday and Friday.
Please wait to mark your spot with chairs and coolers until Saturday morning (morning of the event)!
Canopies can only be set up behind the fencing on the left side (looking at the stage) of the stage area if that area is not flooded from recent rains.
There are lots of trees for shade throughout the park.
Please help keep this a free event by picking up your own trash!

What if it Rains?
This year’s forecast is showing the possibility of rain. The Chamber will do everything in its power to keep the event on the North Park Stage, but may have to move the live music indoors at the Community Building.
The Community Building does have a maximum capacity. In the event the music is moved indoors, the event will remain FREE admission, but will also be first-come, first-serve.

Can I Bring a Cooler?
Yes!
The Chamber has implemented a $20 Cooler Fee this year to help cover the cost of the bands.
You can pay your Cooler Fee and receive a tag for your cooler at the Main Entrance located off 12th Street between the Activity Center and High School Softball Field (12th and North Montana Avenue).
The event has FREE ADMISSION and is BYOB!
Only restriction is that no glass bottles are allowed.
Anyone with glass bottles or throwing beer will be removed from the event.

Where Should I Park?
Your best parking option will be in the Parking Lot on 12th Street across from the High School.
Overflow parking will be available across 12th Street between the High School and James H. Bird Memorial Stadium when needed.
The Chamber of Commerce has a “People Mover”  to transport people and coolers from the parking area to the event.
The Chamber will also be running golf carts to the parking area to help move people to the event and back to their vehicles.

Can I Bring My Golf Cart?
Short answer... No.
The only golf carts ( or similar vehicles) that will be allowed inside the North Park will belong to the Chamber, Security and EMS.
Fencing panels will be placed within the park to make lanes for authorized carts to move. Please do not block these areas with chairs.

How Can I Support the Valenzuela Family After Their Recent Tragedy?
The Valenzuela Family lost their home and the life of sweet 8-year-old Nikaya on Monday morning in a house fire.
Members of the community have come together to have a special booth at the event on Saturday to help raise money for the family.
The booth will take donations and feature brisket sandwiches, tortas, shrimp cocktail, menudo and more.

I’m a Vendor, When Do I Set Up?

Vendor set up will begin on Friday, July 2, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Vendors can also set up Saturday, July 3 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Vehicles will need to be moved to a designated parking area by 11 a.m. Saturday.
There will be a Chamber volunteer to help you find your designated area.
The Vendor Entrance is by the 4-H Barns on Ohio Street. Please make sure you have all supplies needed for the day. For safety reasons you cannot go in and out of the area unless it is a medical emergency.
The back gate will open again at 6 p.m. for those vendors wanting to leave before the live music.
Otherwise, the gates will not open again until Midnight.
We are completely full on food and craft vendors this year.
