The first positive COVID-19 test done by Reagan Hospital District will officially be attributed to Glasscock County by the Texas Department of State Health Services, according to hospital CEO Jonathon Voelkel.

This means Reagan County will continue to show zero positive COVID-19 cases on the State's official list.

The test was conducted at RHD on Friday with the positive result coming in on Sunday.

Voelkel said he was not initially sure if the case would be attributed to Reagan County or another county by the State due to the patient's official permanent address.

Voelkel said the patient did not require hospitalization at Reagan Memorial Hospital.

"They were told to shelter in place," Voelkel said. "Our providers will follow up with them daily to check in on them."

Voelkel said Monday the State will directly contact any businesses or individuals the patient may have come in contact with.
