The Reagan County Tennis Team traveled to San Angelo to play in the LakeView  Brandon Clark Memorial tennis tournament February 7-8, 2019.
That Thursday the Junior Varsity was in action with Alyssa Rodriguez winning the girls singles over Sweetwater’s Gilmore 9-8 (7-2). 
Melina DeLeon-Katlyn Gallegos teamed up to win the girls doubles over Miles Neiland-Neiland 8-4.
Tonya Encinas-Lydia Rameriz placed fourth in girls doubles.
Tony Ortiz was defeated by  Askins of Miles 3-8 for the boys singles championship. 
Bradley Stacy won consolation in the boys singles by defeating Snyder’s Johnson. 
On Friday the Varsity was in action with Logan Knight winning the boys singles over Lakeview’s Mendoza 6-2, 7-6.
Odessa High’s Quezada  defeated  Sierra Martinez in the A girls singles championship.
Snyder’s Sanchez defeated Lizbeth Hernandez  in B girls singles championship.
Odessa High’s Martinez defeated Ethan Kuykendall in the B boys singles championship.
In boys doubles Odessa High’s Moreno-Alvarez defeated Micheal Reyes-Isaac Bonillo 6-3, 6-3 in the finals.
Giovan Botello-Isaac DeLaCruz defeated Abraham Guerrero-Jaden Sanchez 8-3 for consolation.
Keegan DeLaRosa-Christabelle Villanueva placed fourth in girls doubles. 
Brownwood’s Ledesma-Johnson defeated Chantal Ramos-Alejandro Sandate for third place mixed doubles.

This week the Owls hosted the RCHS Winter invitational Tennis Tournament with over fourteen teams traveling to Big Lake to participate in the tournament. 
The Junior Varsity division was played on Thursday February 14. Alejandro Sandate-Chantal Ramos won the mixed doubles championship over Miles Hudson-Graves 9-7.
Natalea Hill-Matthew Guerrero placed third in mixed doubles by defeating Forsan’s Matthis-Tinney.
Antonio Villanueva was defeated in the boys singles championship by Askins of Miles 2-8.
Tony Ortiz defeated his teammate Isaac Bonillo 8-6 for third place.
Nayelle Oropeza defeated her teammate Brenna Stacy 8-6 for third place in girls singles.
Tanya Encinas-Lydia Rameriz placed second in girls doubles as they were defeated by Comstock’s Tavano-White 2-8.
Sanderson’s Rubio-Everett defeated Alyssa Rodriguez-Nayelle Reyes for third 3-8.
The Owls placed first overall as a team with 52 points, Miles varsity 24 and Comstock varsity 20.
On Friday the Varsity division was in action with Logan Knight taking top honors in boys singles by defeating Fort Stockton’s Sanchez 7-5, 7-5 for the championship.
Sierra Martinez was defeated in the girls singles championship by Odessa High’s Quezada 3-6, 3-6.
The boys doubles team of Pablo Hernandez-Skyler Smith were defeated by Sonora’s Vanwinkle-Taylor 5-7, 2-6 for the championship.
Keegan DeLaRosa-Christabelle-Villanueva placed second in girls doubles as they were defeated by Fort Stockton’s Crenshaw-Cope for the championship 3-6, 2-6.
In mixed doubles Shyan Darr-Alex Sosa were defeated  by Odessa High’s Tarango-Moreno for consolation 5-8.
The Reagan county Owls finished first in the team standings followed behind Odessa High and Fort Stockton.
Congratulations goes out to all of our Owl tennis players on a great job of representing Reagan County and always showing that Owl Pride! 
A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that helped get the concession stand set-up, cooked burgers or just donated their time working.
Thanks to all the coaches that helped run the tournament as well as our maintenance and custodians for taking care of our facilities.
