The Reagan County Owls' Baseball team dominated Sonora 11-1 Tuesday night moving the team to 3-0 (1st Place) in district play.
Senior Jacob Gallegos took the win on the mound pitching a complete
game (6 innings due to run-rule) with 7 strikeouts. He also went 2 of 4
with 3 runs scored.
Offensively the Owls were led by Sophomore Alexavier Reyes who went 4 of 4 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.
Senior Isaac Perez was productive at the plate going 3 of 4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI's.
Sophomore Seth Soto also had a great game from the batter's box going 2 of 3 with 1 run scored and 3 RBI's.
The win follows the Owls' 8-7 walk-off victory over Crane on Friday night.
Senior Isaac Perez had a stellar game after taking the mound in the
3rd inning in relief with the game tied at 5. He pitched four innings
with 3 strikeouts.
His performance on the mound was overshadowed though by his seventh inning heroics in the batter's box.
Perez ended the game in the bottom of the seventh with a double to round out his night.
Others with impressive nights offensively include Freshmen AJ Avalos
who went 3 of 3 with 3 runs and 2 RBI's, and Sophomore Alexavier Reyes
who went 2 of 4 with 1 RBI.
The Owls are back in action next Tuesday as they travel to Stanton to continue District Play following the Easter Holiday.
