Basketball is in full force in Reagan County.

The season was tipped off by the Lady Owls who have notched three lopsided victories and two close losses.

The team started their season on November 6 with a 44 to 20 win over Ozona.

The team was sparked by Melissa Hernandez with 10 points and six rebounds, Makaila Hernandez with 10 points and Paige Baggett with seven points and nine rebounds.

The Lady Owls put another W in the win column on November 13th with a 47 to 38 victory over McCamey.

Shyan Darr led the team with nine points and three steals.

Michelle DeLaCruz put up seven points, Clarissa Flores notched six points and five rebounds, Melissa Hernandez contributed six points and 10 rebounds and Shayla Sosa kept the ball in the Lady Owls’ hands with six steals.

The Lady Owls’ third win came in blow-out fashion with a 56 to 22 win over Crane.

The team was led by   Clarissa Flores with eight points and eight rebounds.

Michelle DelaCruz put up seven points and six rebounds. Melissa Hernandez had seven points and five rebounds.

Scoring was rounded out by Shyan Darr with six points, Delaney Yanez with six points, Paige Baggett with six points and Che Cervantes with six points.

The team suffered their first loss of the season in over-time fashion.

The group dropped to Pecos 43-42 after an extra frame.

Melissa Hernandez led the team with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Shayla Sosa finished with nine points and six rebounds.

Shyan Darr also had a good night with eight points.

The Lady Owls last game, played on Tuesday night in Big Lake, was a rematch against McCamey.

McCamey put together a better game this time against Reagan County handing the Lady Owls a two point, 36 to 34 loss.

Melissa Hernandez had a great game with 18 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.

Shyan Darr finished with four points and four steals.

Paige Baggett finished with four points, seven rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Owls are back in action today taking on Bronte in the Robert Lee Tournament at Noon.
