Genesis Castillo, 18 of Big Lake, was arrested Wednesday evening following the execution of a search warrant at 209 S Caliche in Big Lake.

The Reagan County Sheriff's Department served the search warrant at 5:30 p.m.

The search resulted in 10.6 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine being seized.

Officials say the home was shared between Castillo and Juan Barrera.

Barrera was sentenced to seven years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison system on January 9, 2019 after he plead guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance.

That charge stemmed from a 2018 traffic stop where seven grams of methamphetamine were seized.

Following the search Wednesday, Castillo was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Grade 1, 4g-200g, in a Drug Free Zone.

The charge is a First Degree Felony.

Sergeant Nick Hammer said the search warrant was obtained with information provided to the department from a cooperating individual.

First degree felonies carry a possible punishment of five years to life in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.

As with all criminal cases, Castillo is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
