Jimmy Alan Garner of Big Lake, Texas went to be with our Lord Sunday August 12th, 2018.

Alan was born in Denison, Texas on December 9th, 1968, where he resided until he was 9 years old.

He lived the rest of his days in Big Lake, Texas, where he raised his children and served his community to the fullest.

Alan earned the title “Chief” and wore it with pride. He served the Reagan County Fire Department for 29 years, being Fire Chief for the majority of that time. To many he was called “Teacher” and rightfully so, as he taught hundreds at various Fire Schools over 20 years. He went above and beyond the call of duty in every aspect of life and served people until the very day the Lord called him home. Among his favorite roles was his most recent: “Granddad”.

Alan leaves behind a legacy of love. Amongst those include his wife of 32 years: Brandi Garner of Big Lake, his children: Samantha and husband Mario De Hoyos of Big Lake, Hannah Garner of Big Lake, and Benjamin Garner of Big Lake, his granddaughter: Olivia De Hoyos of Big Lake, his parents: Jimmy and Kathy Garner of Big Lake, his brothers: Jeff and wife Molly Garner of Big Lake, Doug and wife Michelle Garner of Odessa, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Rest in peace Alan for a job well-done!!
