Sheila Jones, 76, of Big Lake, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Big Lake. She was born to the late, Herman and Welcome Lorene Bird Siegenthaler on November 13, 1940 in McCamey, Texas. 

Sheila was known to many as the “answering lady”, having owned and operated Big Lake Answering Service for over 20 years. She was a character, always prepared to handle any crisis or need.

She never turned anyone away, no matter who they might be or what their status in life was. Sheila was a member of various civic organizations and clubs over the years. Sheila married Jimmy Jones on September 16, 1984 in Big Springs, Texas. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tony Nance; and brother and sister-in-law, Mack and Betty Siegenthaler.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Jones; daughters and their spouses, Pearl Herriage and Jerry, Kim Scott, and Tammy Smalley and Robert; grandchildren, Shawn Grove, Tonya Rae Scott, Jenna Smalley, Tyler Smalley, and Amber Long; 10 great grandchildren and one on the way.
There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angelo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the First Baptist Church of Big Lake with Rev. Gerald Bastin officiating.
