Gerald “Jerry” Davis, of Big Lake, met his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Jerry was born on January 3, 1941 in Lamesa, Texas to Deen and Nonnette Davis.

Jerry grew up in O’Donnell, Texas where some of his fondest memories include playing on the state winning Lamesa baseball team and childhood memories of a friendship with Dan Blocker.

Jerry moved to Big Lake in 1963, and was known by many through his working in the outfield of West Texas and time spent on the golf course. Jerry was an avid golfer and was revered by many as an excellent player. Many of

Jerry’s most cherished memories were formed on the golf course and many life long friendships were developed during a round of golf.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 25 year, Peggy; son Mitch and wife Christine; and daughter Donna Holden, all of Big Lake. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters, Karen and husband Crouch of Sanger and Connie Davis of San Angelo; brother Larry and wife Pat Davis of Garland; granddaughter Natialie Lopez of San Angelo; and great- grandchildren Keegen De La Rosa, Ariel, Michael, Frankie, Andrew, and Zayla.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Deen and Nonnette; daughter Cindy Holden, daughter- in-law Cindy Davis ; and great - grandson Clayton De La Rosa.

A memorial service was held Monday October 7, 2013 at the Big Lake Golf Course with Reverends J.B. Bitner and Byron Bitner officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Casey Davidson, Rich McPhaul, Marty Russell, Jerry Chic, Sammy Goodloe, Scott Parker, and Dean Titworth.
